'The Emoji Movie' Has A 0 Percent Rating On Rotten Tomatoes So Far

The reviews are in, and critics say β€œThe Emoji Movie” is β€œa force of insidious evil,” a β€œgarbage fire” and β€œone of the darkest, most dismaying films I have ever seen.” It is β€œself-evidently soulless,” a β€œsoul-crushing disaster,” a β€œtravesty, a witless wonder” and β€œnakedly idiotic.” It is β€œdumb, flat, goofy, and obvious, and maybe a tad corrupt.”

The plot is β€œlaboriously literal,” β€œmore than a bit lazy” and β€œentirely predictable despite making absolutely no sense.” Its characters are β€œexceedingly boring,” so much so that this could be β€œT.J. Miller’s ticket to oblivion.”

β€œThe only thing worse than the dialogue” ― which is β€œbraindead” ― β€œis the absurd product placement.”

The film is β€œexactly what its posters would lead you to believe it is: an animated narrative film about emoji.” But make no mistake: β€œChildren should not be allowed to watch β€˜The Emoji Movie’” because β€β€˜The Emoji Movie’ is β€˜Inside Out’ crossed with a Sony commercial and dunked in toxic ooze” and a β€œcallous cash grab that fully understands what a parent circa 2017 needs to keep the kids contained.”

It β€œlacks humor, wit, ideas, visual style, compelling performances, a point of view or any other distinguishing characteristic,” including β€œlogic, or anything remotely close to heart.” In fact, the film’s” β€œutter awfulness,” β€œpervasive falseness” and β€œsloppily tied knot of faux-inspirational morals” make it β€œless of a movie and more of an insult.”

β€œAs creatively bankrupt a picture as can be,” β€œthis is nothing but shameless pandering to a demographic that really doesn’t know better.”

β€œA viewer leaves The Emoji Movie a colder person,” and β€œgiving money to a movie like this is only going to encourage more like it.”

β€œMake no mistake, β€˜The Emoji Movie’ is very, very, very bad.” And it has received a score of 0 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, too.
