Former Wrestler Arrested For Allegedly Raping 16-Year-Old Kabaddi Player In Delhi

Delhi Police arrested a wrester on Wednesday after a minor national level junior Kabaddi player alleged that she was raped.

Accused Naresh Dahiya, 48, a resident of North West Delhi's Jain Nagar Extension, runs a wrestling training centre.

"The arrest of Dahiya was made after police traced him with the help of technical surveillance. During interrogation, the accused admitted his crime," Indian Express quoted the sources saying.

In her statement, the victim had alleged that on July 9 she met a man who befriended her posing as an official of the Chhatrasal Stadium administration. She further claimed that the man took her to a flat in Rohini on the pretext of introducing her to a few of his friends and then raped her.

"After committing the crime, the accused threatened her of dire consequences and then dropped her off at a bus stand," the police officer reportedly said.

An investigation into the matter is underway.
