The AIB Meme On Modi Has Apparently Annoyed A Lot Of People-- Including The Prime Minister's Lookalike

We didn't see this coming.

Who ever knew a joke can cause so much outrage?

All India Bakchod, popularly known as AIB, has got into a trouble of trouble for just one tweet. The tweet was an image of a look-alike of the Prime Minister at a railway station, along with a photo of PM Modi with a Snapchat dog filter, captioned #wanderlust.

They were trolled. There were threats issued. They were accused of hurting national sentiment. And a criminal defamation and obscenity case was registered against them by the Mumbai police.

And now the person whose photo was used alongside Modi's is also upset with AIB. MP Ramachandran, a resident of Kerala, told Hindustan Times that he plans to shave off his beard.

The 61-year-old said that he's tired of the resemblance with the Prime Minister and that he's often stopped at bus stops and stations for selfies. So, he plans to get rid off the beard so he doesn't resemble the Prime Minister anymore. "People are misusing my picture," he said.

A local news channel called Kairali News had identified Ramachandran and reported that he was on his way to Bangalore where he currently lives with his family, after visiting his mother in Kerala, when someone clicked his photo from Payyanur Railway station.

Ramachandran got the AIB meme too, someone sent to him on WhatsApp.

"I didn't know it was going to be such a big thing. In the past too, there were similar incidents, I used to keep away from them. Now since it has even come to the notice of the PM, I don't know how it is going to affect me," he had told Kairali News.

AIB, known for its comedy sketches through online platforms, had landed in trouble over a "roast" featuring some Bollywood celebrities. Last year, the comedy group raked up controversy after its Snapchat filter pictures of Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar. It got so much hate from certain politicians that a Shiv Sena leader went as far as to say that such "sick" people should be beaten with hunters in public.
