Forbes Magazine has released its annual 'Highest Paid Celebrities' in the world list and as far as India is concerned, only 3 Bollywood stars have found a spot there.
Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar are the three stars who find a mention in the Top 100.
SRK is at the 65th spot with reported annual earnings of $38 million.
While stars like Jay-Z, Tom Cruise, Taylor Swift are much ahead of Shah Rukh, coming at the 71st spot is Salman Khan, with earnings of about $37 million.
Surprising considering that Salman's box-office track record has been relatively better than Shah Rukh, whose films have largely underperformed.
At the 80th spot is Akshay Kumar, with earning of $35.5 million. He is right after pop-star Rihanna and Bon Jovi.
Amitabh Bachchan, who was in the Top 100 last year, hasn't found a mention in the 2017 list. No Indian woman entertainer has made it to the coveted list, yet another indication of gender-based pay disparity in the film business. Globally, Sofia Vergara (at no. 58) is the only other female actor on the list, clocking about $41 million.
Among the top 3 are American rapper Sean Combs (or Diddy), Beyonce, and British author JK Rowling.
Forbes says these figures are based on the celebrity's income between June 1, 2016 and June 1, 2017.
According to its website, "Fees for agents, managers, and lawyers are not deducted."
And these estimates are based on figures sourced from agencies like Nielsen, NPD Bookscan, Pollstar, Box Office Mojo, Songkick, D'Marie and IMDB.
