'Yoga Kijiye': Agriculture Minister's Response To Reporters On Farmers' Deaths In Mandsaur

Five farmers have died, and protests are still raging in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur. And while authorities and representatives of the people are supposed take stock of the situation, the Union Agriculture Minister is busy busting yoga poses in Bihar's Motihari.

NDTV reported that not only was Radha Mohan Singh seen at an event organised by Ramdev doing yoga, he refused to answer questions about Mansaur telling reporters "Yoga kijiye (practice yoga)"

Motihari is Singh's parliamentary constituency and hometown.

Singh could be seen enjoying himself while trying to master a yoga pose.

This comes at a time when five farmers have died and right had been injured on Tuesday when police opened fire on the protesters.

The opposition has harshly criticised the Centre for the incident. Congress Vice president Rahul Gandhi, who was detained while trying to reach Mandsaur, had said today:

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao was quoted by ANI as saying, "Rahul is trying to create a scene and indulging in political tourism. He is trying to create a photo-op politics. The enquiry that has been ordered will bring out the real truth of the Congress party and its role in perpetrating violence in Mansaur. Rahul Gandhi should not do politics on unfortunate tragedy."
