John Oliver railed against President Donald Trump for delivering a “flamboyantly deceptive” speech during his announcement about the U.S. withdrawing from the Paris Agreement to combat climate change.
Oliver fact-checked Trump’s remarks, first tackling the moment the president claimed the world celebrated the signing of the accord because it put the U.S. at an “economic disadvantage.”
“What are you talking about?” Oliver said. “They were happy because they secured a landmark victory for the future of the planet, you fucking egomaniac.”
The “Last Week Tonight” host continued to call out Trump’s “ludicrous misunderstanding” of the climate change agreement and his reckless decision to bail from the accord, but insisted that there was one silver lining.
