Suspended AAP leader Kapil Mishra was on Wednesday manhandled by some Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators, creating a commotion in the Delhi assembly.
Delhi's former Water Minister was seen being caught in a stronghold and dragged out of the House by AAP members, reported IANS.
He later claimed that he was attacked because he tried to raise the issue of AAP government's alleged corruption. He also alleged that he had been assaulted on the Delhi CM's "orders".
Mishra told The Times of India:
"I was not given a chance to speak in the House, so I made a demand for a special session to be called at Ramlila Maidan. Suddenly, they [AAP legislators] rushed at me, they pushed me, pummelled me on the chest and some of them kicked me from behind."
Earlier, an alleged AAP supporter had also attacked Mishra in his own home.
Mishra has been carrying on a campaign against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, levelling graft allegation against him.
He has laid out a series of claims against Kejriwal, from accusing him of taking ₹2 crore from state Health Minister Satyendra Jain, delaying the probe into a ₹400 crore tanker scam, and being involved in a ₹300 crore health care scam.
Mishra had also made scathing remarks about Kejriwal making time to watch Sarkaar 3, even when he could "barely make it to the office" usually.
Interestingly, is not the first time that a legislators has been shown the door in Delhi assembly during AAP's regime.
In May, BJP MLA Vijendra Gupta was also marshalled out of the assembly after a huge ruckus.
He had later told the media:
"I wanted to discuss this issue [AAP government's alleged corruption] in the assembly, but I was marshalled out. Do you not believe in democracy?"
