Is someone going to do something about this?

It's a crisis situation in Bengaluru. Close on the heels of the pre-monsoon showers, the city is now tackling a one-of-a-kind snowfall. And it's not a good one.

Like every year, Varthur Lake is foaming again. The toxic foam is now spilling over to the Whitefield Main Road. Commuters and residents have been complaining. "Can't walk as toxic foam settles on skin, can't drive as it settles on windscreen. The government seems to have no solution to this problem," a resident told ANI.

This resident is probably not far from truth. And Karmataka Chief Minister's statement on the issue seems like the government isn't even bothered.

"There's no problem...it happens every year," chief minister K Siddaramaiah was quoted as saying by NDTV.

He said that the BBMP is taking care of it and it will be solved.

According to the NDTV report, the Karnataka government first plans to finish work on the larger lake, the Bellandur and then take up the cleaning of the Varthur Lake.

"All authorities are aware of the problem. They need to give it deeper thought. Varthur Kodi Junction is a busy place, and everyone gets affected by the foam. We must remember it was bound to happen given that root cause of the lake's pollution has not been addressed," a resident told Times Of India.

A senior Bangalore Development Authority official told Bangalore Mirror that they they are trying to solve the issue. "Senior officials have visited the spot and soon, we will come up with a solution for the lake," he said.
