Instead of going through the zillion photos stored in Google photos how would you like it if you could just run a search on the search engine and find the relevant photo? For example just type 'beer' or 'cat' or 'dog' or 'food' in the search bar on Google and be led to a bunch of related pictures from your personal stash. Earlier you had to go to the Google photos interface to perform a particular search.

Now, Google is giving you an option to do just that! Apart from photos, you can also search for your personal emails from the search engine itself.

As reported by search engine roundtable, the results are shown in a newly-introduced tab called 'Personal'. Say you want to look for all the cat photos you have taken on your phone and which have been consequently saved in Google Photos.

You run a search with the word 'cat' in the search engine. Choose 'personal' tab under the 'More' option and lo and behold, all your cat pictures have surfaced in the search. Including mails on Gmail where you have mentioned cats.

The feature works both on mobile and desktop web results. However, it is not clear at the moment what other information the user can see under the tab. We have reached out to Google for more details.
