Superstar actor Rajinikanth is consulting an agency in Bengaluru for his entry into politics, reported Indian Express. According to the report, the agency is researching voting patterns in Tamil Nadu and advising him on the public issues the popular actor, known as "Thalaivaa", could campaign on.

Reports suggest that the 66-year-old might launch his own political party soon, and become the Bharatiya Janata Party's ally in the 2019 general elections.

Meanwhile, his brother Satyanarayana Rao Gaikwad has indicated that Rajinikanth might float his political party by the end of July this year. "He has just ended the first round of consultation with his fans and well-wishers who were urging him to take the plunge," said Gaikwad.

The superstar has earlier hinted that he was considering joining politics, and said it was "all in the hands of god". He is reported to be under immense pressure to join politics. As HuffPost India contributing editor G Pramod Kumar writes, "Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's possible entry into politics has been the longest running trailer of an imaginary blockbuster in Tamil Nadu."
