No matter who you are, diligent traffic cops in Uttar Pradesh will have none of it, if your car is parked at the wrong spot. Japan's Ambassador to India, Kenji Hiramatsu, was in for a shock on Thursday when his car was allegedly towed away by traffic officials.
ASP Habibul Hasan told Times of India that traffic cops towed away a white SUV with the numberplate UP 32 GN 4912 from Gate Number 2 of the Vidhan Bhawan Annexe as he went inside to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Hiramatsu almost got a challan before cops realised that the car belonged to the Japanese Ambassador and released the vehicle. A reporter with the Economic Times tweeted that a UP official reportedly lent Hiramatsu a car for his return trip.
Very awkward.
