Get Ready, There's Going To Be A Deadpool TV Show

So, this is kind of tight: Marvel has announced that Donald Glover and his brother, Stephen, are going to spearhead an animated TV show about fictional Marvel antihero Deadpool.

The show, which is intended for adults, will appear on FXX, and the two Glovers ― who also worked together on the hit show “Atlanta” on FX ― will act as showrunners, executive producers and writers, according to a release. So far, 10 episodes have been ordered for a scheduled 2018 release.

Nick Grad, a co-president of FX Networks and FX Productions, said in a release that he was hoping to continue the momentum of “Legion,” another Marvel-FX co-production.

“Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who’ll bring the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit ‘Atlanta,’” Grad said.

News of the animated show comes just a year after the release of “Deadpool” the movie, starring Ryan Reynolds, which pulled in both positive reviews from critics and hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office.

A sequel, inevitably, is set for a June 1, 2018, release.
