Senior Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav is allegedly forming a new party with Mulayam Sigh Yadav as its chief, reported the ANI.

The new party will be called the 'Samajwadi Secular Morcha'.

He said that the formal announcement of the party would be made soon. It is an effort to bring the socialists together and to give Mulayam Singh Yadav the respect that he deserves, he said.

On 3 May, Yadav had said that if Akhilesh Yadav did not hand over the reins to his father Mulayam Singh Yadav, he would form a new secular front. He blamed the former chief minister for the party's losses.

The Samajwadi Party witnessed a bitter feud between Shivpal Yadav and Akhilesh right before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections.

In fact, while Shivpal Yadav was filing his nominations for the UP polls, he had said that he would form a party once the results were declared.
