A passenger on Jet Airways Delhi-Mumbai flight raised a panic alarm alerting PM Narendra Modi over Twitter, after the plane was diverted to Jaipur due to bad weather.

Following the tweet, airport security officials rushed to conduct a search at Jaipur airport and questioned passengers including the person who had sent the tweet. Flight 9W355, which had 176 people on board, had been delayed by a few hours because of traffic congestion and bad weather, TOI reported.

A Jet Airways spokesperson said that authorities including the CISF, and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and local security were called into action following the tweet. Apparently, several other flights were also diverted, which is a routine procedure for flights in inclement weather.
