Katy Perry's Fans Roast Her After She Asks Them To Bake Her A Cherry Pie

This week, Katy Perry took to Twitter to ask her fans to bake her pies and in return she would send them "a surprise".

Before we get too far into the pie thing a quick aside: did you know Katy Perry has the MOST FOLLOWERS on Twitter in the world? Katy Perry has more followers than Obama. Katy Perry ranks number one when it comes to followers. The account for Twitter itself ranks number nine. That is mind-blowing stuff.

So Katy Perry demands her record-breaking number of followers to bake her cherry pies, with instructions to make the most delicious golden crust and the juiciest filling.

And lo, the internet delivered.

But not everyone's pie was so sweet.

One fan even went so far as to reference Katy's 2009 Brit Awards debacle where she felt so ill she apparently laid on the floor of a bathroom while waiting for an award.

(According to Perry she was consoled by Natalie Imbruglia, who has a lot of experience feeling cold and shamed lying on a Brits bathroom floor.)

But on the whole, there were some brilliant pies being served for Katy's enjoyment.

So you may be scratching your head wondering why all the pie? Sure, it might be a cute competition, but there could also be some coded hints about Katy's next release. Following on from the success of "Chained to the Rhythm", the next single has been long rumoured to be titled "Bon Appétit", and taking a closer look at that recipe, there might be some lyrical hints hidden within.

"Please just take your time / This pie is gonna hit that sweet tooth, boy / Calm those hungry eyes / Bon Appétit, baby!"

And that seems to fit in with the sneaks that have leaked out via Katy's Snapchat a few weeks ago.

Now that we understand the pie bake-off, someone really needs to explain the Guy Fieri cosplay:

happy #420, #nationallookalikeday and now #nevergettinglaidday @guyfieri
