A 15-year-old boy who was accused of raping a school girl in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills was asked to get married to her by the Village council. However, the accused said that he won't marry unless he is given an auto rickshaw, reports Anandabazar Patrika.

According to the report, the 15-year-old held the girl at knife point when she was on her way to school and sexually assaulted her. He then reportedly locked her in a room, and raped her for three days.

Later, the accused left the girl at her relative's house.

The incident happened in March.

When the girl's mother complained to the village council, the members ordered the accused to get married to the girl. He was told that he won't have to face any punishment if he marries her.

However, the accused demanded an auto rickshaw and said he won't marry without that.

Refusing to give in to his demands, the girl's family finally went to the police station and has filed a complaint against him.
