In a shocking incident, authorities at Bhagalpur University in Bihar just plain forgot to print the question papers for a Hindi exam, pushing the test to a later date.

As many as 94 students of the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) were turned away from the exam centre where they showed up to write their final paper of their postgraduate semester exam, Hindustan Times reported. The new exam date is still undecided.

According to the university's public relations officer, Ashok Thakur, the goof up happened following the introduction of a new 'choice-based credit system.'

"The CBCS was introduced to allow students flexibility to choose any subject (from science, arts or commerce streams) in the fourth paper. The Hindi HoD has claimed that printing of question papers could not be initiated as he was not aware which subjects the students opted for in the fourth paper," Thakur added.

But, according to the HT report, this is a second incident of serious university administrative lapses, especially during exams. Recently, a degree part II exam was postponed by a year because of delay in printing answer books.
