Chhattisgarh TV Anchor Discovers About Her Husband's Death While Reading The News, Doesn't Stop

Even though no names were mentioned in the report, Surpreet Kaur had figured out that the news was about her husband.

An anchor of a Chhattisgarh-based news channel faced a gut-wrenching moment on Saturday morning. 28-year-old Surpreet Kaur was reading out a news piece about a road accident where three people had died on the spot, only to realise that the news was about her own husband.

Even after she realised that the news was about her husband, she kept on reading the teleprompter with great composure, said an article in Hindustan Times.

Even though no names were announced during the news, Kaur, who has been working with the news channel IBC-24 for over nine years, figured out that the car crash could that be of her husband. He was also supposed to travel on the same route in same car mentioned by the reporter.

However, Kaur did not step away to find out until she finished the bulletin. After that, she walked out, called her family and broke down.

Reportedly, her editors knew it was her husband who was killed in the car crash, but did not have the courage to tell her.

One of Kaur's colleagues told HT:

She is an extremely brave lady. We are proud of her as an anchor, but what happened today has left us in shock.

Originally from Bhilai, Kaur had married Harsad Kawade only a year ago. They were residents of Raipur.
