The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has advised Reliance Jio to withdraw the Summer Surprise offer. The network provider has agreed to follow the recommendation. It has not given a date of the withdrawal yet.

"Jio accepts this decision. Jio is in the process of fully complying with the regulator's advice and will be withdrawing the 3 months complimentary benefits of JIO SUMMER SURPRISE as soon as operationally feasible, over the next few days," the company said in a statement.

The company said that customers will still get the benefits if they enroll before the discontinuation. Previously, Jio had announced that it is extending the deadline to become a premium member to 15 April. Additionally, it will give the customers who will make a recharge of ₹303 or higher the benefits for three months instead of one.

After the TRAI's order, the customers won't get those benefits. Jio was offering additional 100 GB of data on selected plans as well. It is unclear if the subscribers of these plans would still get a 100 GB of extra data after the deadline date.
