Air India on Tuesday cancelled Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad's ticket for a Mumbai-Delhi flight. The second cancellation of a plane ticket booked by Gaikwad comes after he beat an Air India manager with slippers last week.

According to reports, Gaikwad had a booked a flight with Air India for Wednesday morning.

On 23 March, Gaikwad assaulted the airline official with his slipper over seating allocation on a Pune-New Delhi Air India flight. He claimed that the official had misbehaved with him.

A day later, the MP representing Maharashtra's Osmanabad constituency was banned by four private airlines from flying with them.

Gaikwad however has refused to apologise and even threatened to take legal action against the state carrier.

In response to the ban on Gaikwad by the four airlines, the government is reportedly considering changing aviation rules that govern who can bar individuals from flying and for how long.
