Xiaomi is going to make their newest smartphone, the Redmi Note 4, available in stores. The move is in keeping with the phonemaker's promise to expand its offline presence. Users can pre-order the phones at various outlets across India. While Xiaomi has mentioned that the selling price of the phone is going to be ₹11,499, it is not clear which variant of the Redmi Note 4 it is putting out for sale.

The smartphone will be available offline on pre-order from 14 to 17 March in retail stores in the north region and at the large format retailers in the south. The company will also be selling the Redmi Note 4 at large format retailers in Delhi, Jaipur and Chandigarh from 16 to 21 March.

"We spent 2016 building strong operations in our offline distribution and paving the way to bring innovation in our offline model. We started this with our direct to the retail model, and with the introduction of pre-order, we are extending our innovation to everyone" Vipin Raina, Head, Offline Sales, Xiaomi India, stated in a press release.

The move to go with offline sales comes after Xiaomi sold over 1 million units of Redmi Note 4 online. The launch of Lenovo's Moto G5 could be another reason behind the decision. Lenovo doesn't have an extensive offline presence, however the Moto G5 Plus will available for purchase on Flipkart as compared to the flash sales model adopted by Xiaomi for selling the Redmi Note 4 so far.

Xiaomi is also launching two new variants of the phone, the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A, on 20 March. These devices will be available in the sub ₹10,000 range. The Redmi 4 is a 5-inch device with Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 2 GB RAM and 4,100 mAh battery. There might also be a Prime version, with a ramped up processor and RAM capacity. The devices will replace last year's budget offerings, the Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime.

The Redmi 4A will be a low-end offering with a price point of around ₹5,000 with a 5 inch HD display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. It will have 2 GB of RAM and a 3,120 mAh battery. The device doesn't have a fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi's early launches this year, as compared to last, suggests that the Chinese phonemaker is all set to go full throttle and take on the competition in India.
