If you use a mobile phone or have a broadband Internet connection, these are good times. All the network operators are vying for your attention. Right after Vodafone, Airtel and Idea announced their new plans to combat Reliance Jio's Prime plan, Jio has hit back with new plans of its own.
Jio users can now use Paytm and Mobikwik e-wallets to pay for their Prime plan. The e-wallets have offers of their own. Mobikwik is offering a one-time Prime membership at ₹79 instead of the original ₹99 and it is also offering cashback of up to ₹150 with its Supercash scheme.
Paytm is offering goodies in the form of cashback worth ₹381 for performing Jio transaction on its platform. These gifts offer ₹30 cashback on two recharges, ₹150 off on movie tickets and a free add-on voucher.
Meanwhile, incumbent telecom operator Airtel is offering its postpaid customers an additional 30 GB free data with a 10 GB per month limit. India's biggest telco has also announced that all incoming roaming calls will now be free for its users. Following suit, Idea Cellular has also offering similar additional benefit to its users.
All telcos are offering multiple plans to prepaid users to combat Jio's Prime membership which will be active from 31 March.
Details of the Vodafone Idea-merger are also expected to be made public this week and could lead to more churn in the form of newer offers for users.
