LG today launched its flagship phone LG G6 today at MWC Barcelona, moving away from the modular design of last year's LG G5 for a bigger display in a compact body.
The smartphone has a 5.7-inch QHD display with an interesting 18:9 aspect ratio. The company pressed on the fact the big screen fits in a 5.2-inch height of the body. It claimed that the phone is the smallest in the category. The screen also has the Dolby Vision and HDR 10 technology support. LG is calling it a 'FullVision' display.
The full metal body of the phone has an almost bezel-less design on the front. The home button has been removed and fingerprint sensor is located has the back. The phone is waterproof and dustproof with the IP68 rating. LG claims that the phone will endure daily falls as well.
Under the hood, the smartphone uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset. The phone has 3300 mAh of battery. It supports Qualcomm fast charging 3.0 with USB C type of charging point. The phone has a RAM of 4 GB and internal memory of 32 GB. However, selected countries in Asia will get the 64 GB version.
LG G6 runs Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box. It also comes with Google Assistant. as well. This is the first phone apart from Pixel to get Google's Assistant. The phone has dual camera setup on the rear with two 13 MP camera with one of them being a 125-degree wide-angle lens. The availability and the pricing of the phone are yet to be announced.
