LG To Launch LG G6 Flagship Phone With Dual Wide-Angle Camera At MWC

LG is launching its flagship model next week at the MWC.
LG

Last year, multinational electronics giant LG put up an extravagant show at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona, launching a VR headset, Rolling Bots, Smart Home accessories and, most importantly, the modular LG G5 smartphone. But the phone failed badly because the implementation of the concepts in the device was not satisfactory, so the smartphone maker seems to have gone back to its roots this year with the LG G6.

According to reports, the new flagship smartphone will be a non-modular device. As of now, LG might try out the modular concept in other gadgets but not in its phones. As cited by many reports, following the trend of practically bezel-less displays (i.e. displays that do not have a plastic or metal casing frames on the sides), LG G6 will have a 5.7-inch QHD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.

LG has opted for a glossy metal design on the back with no buttons on the front. The display will have an 'always-on' capability that will show certain information without waking up the phone.

The phone is likely to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 processor, along with 4 GB RAM capacity, according to a 9to5Google report. It will also have 32 GB of expandable internal storage, and a 3200 mAh battery capacity. A teaser released by LG suggests that the phone will have waterproofing as well.

As the video shows, with a 'capture it all at once' feature, LG is suggesting that the phone will come with a dual camera setup that will be able to use both the lenses simultaneously.sted that LG G6 will have dual wide angle camera with 125 degrees of field of view, as reported by a Korean blog. The front camera will have 100 degrees of field of view.

LG

In a surprise, LG G6 might be the first phone besides the Pixels to come with Google's personal assistant, called the Google Assistant, pre-loaded.

Because of LG G5's poor performance, Samsung Galaxy S7's great showing, and the rise of the Chinese smartphones, LG slipped out of all smartphone rankings. It will look to come back strongly this year with some back to the basics models.
