A mob of almost a 100 people attacked a private hospital in Kolkata's Ekbalpore area after the family members of a patient who died this morning alleged medical negligence on the part of the hospital staff.

The girl who was admitted to CMRI on the evening of 14 February in a serious condition was suffering due to a clot in her stomach, said reports. When the hospital informed the family about her death, they blamed it on the facility and started beating up the hospital staff. They also vandalised the hospital building.

According to News18, the family claimed the hospital did not give the patient the proper treatment because they were unable to give the desired amount of money.

Some of them even blocked the Diamond Harbour Road and disrupted the movement of traffic.
