As many of you know already, the most anticipated products at the keynote of Lenovo's 26 February event at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona would be the duo of Moto's ultra popular G series phones. The new Moto G5 and G5 Plus are expected to carry forward the legacy and the success which made Lenovo the number two smartphone manufacturer in India last year.
There have been plenty of leaks regarding both the phones. Moto G5 Plus is the higher end phone, carrying a 5.2-inch full HD display. Last year's Moto G4 Plus carried a 5.5 inch full HD display. According to a report, the phone will be running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Processor with 4 GB RAM.
The battery size is rumoured to be 3000 mAh, with Turbocharging enabled. Which is the same size as the last year's model. Moto G5 will be launched with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box with special features such as Moto Assist and Moto Actions. This year's model might also be adapting a metal frame for a premium look according to the latest Weibo leak.
The rear camera for Moto G5 plus will be a 12 MP shooter with rapid focus technology using a Sony sensor. The front camera will use a 5 MP sensor.
Moto G5 is the lower-end variant of the two and will have a 5 inch full HD display. Instead of a Snapdragon 625, this phone will use Snapdragon 430 processor, according to the reports. To support these specs, the phone is expected to have 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.
The battery size is rumoured to be 2800 mAh. This variant will also be running Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box.
The phones will be reportedly launched in India next month. The midrange battle will get interesting as Xiaomi is already cruising with the success of Redmi Note 4, while Oppo and Vivo are expected to launch more selfie-centric phones.
