Who will be win the battle for the chief minister's chair in Tamil Nadu? People are waiting with bated breath as the log jam continued on Friday morning.
Now, Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao is meeting with DGP T K Rajendran. Meanwhile the Madras High Court has asked the police to file an affidavit on the MLAs who have been lodged at a resort close to Chennai.
And as O Panneerselvam is fighting to keep his job as the chief minister of the state, it was good news for Sasikala as the Supreme Court refused to advance the hearing of a plea seeking to stop Sasikala from become chief minister till he was cleared in the cases of disproportionate assets that are still pending before the apex court.
There were also reports that Sasikala has approached the Congress for support. The Times of India reported that Rahul Gandhi was likely to meet AIADMK MLAs in Delhi on Friday.
However, reports in India Today suggested that the Congress has decided not to extend support to her cause.
Amidst this confusion over who is going to win, Panneerselvam, who is said to have the public support, was felicitated by his supporters:
A Twitter poll put out by his supporter saw most people favouring him for the CM's post over Sasikala
Earlier in the day reports said that while Sasikala was suspected to have even won over the police brass, Panneerselvam too met Rajendran and state chief secretary Girija Vaidyanathan over the issue.
As both sides are leaving no stone unturned, it remains to be seen who takes the cake.
