In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old man allegedly shot his wife dead and critically injured his mother-in-law in Ghaziabad. Satendra Teotia then reportedly drove with his wife's body in his car for a few kilometres before being caught by the police.

According to the Hindustan Times, Teotia suspected his wife of having an extramarital relationship. The murder allegedly took place in Gangapuram locality that falls under the Masuri police station, where the accused lived with his wife Raj Kumari and their three minor children. At around 5 pm, Teotia drove his wife to a nearby field and then shot her three times.

"He came back to his residence, leaving her body in the car and went inside the house to fetch something," a police officer said. "When locals saw the bleeding woman, they tried to pull her out but the accused returned and drove away with her. He then drove to his mother-in-law's house at Krishna Garden locality, which falls under the Kavi Nagar police station area."

Teotia then shot at his mother-in-law twice and drove away towards Hapur Chungi, where he was finally caught by the police and his wife's body was recovered.

"His mother-in-law was admitted in a critical state to a private hospital," said Deepak Kumar, senior superintendent of police, Ghaziabad. "Satendra was arrested along with country-made weapons. During questioning, he said that the relationship between him and his wife was not cordial and both had frequent altercations. He said that his wife did not like him and did not pay proper attention to him."

Teotia also told the police that he had taught in some private colleges in Ghaziabad and was a post-graduate. He now worked at a dairy farm that his family had opened. Teotia and Raj Kumari were married in December 2003 and have two daughters and a son.
