Remember BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav whose video had created ripples in the armed forces because of the allegation he made about the quality of food and poor work conditions? Well, recent reports suggest that his family has no idea where he is and is going to file a habeus corpus petition in court soon.

Yadav's brother-in-law Vijay told The Indian Express, "Yadav last spoke to his wife and said that the BSF officials are taking him to an unknown location. But couldn't speak further. We have sent two letters to the DG, but have not got any response so far."

Last month too, Yadav's wife, Sharmila, had shared a Facebook post claiming that she had no idea where he was.

Later, she alleged that Yadav had been mentally tortured and arrested. On February 2 Sharmila told ANI, "I waited for him on the 31st, but he didn't come. He called around 8 pm that he is not coming and that he was asked to retire. He further said that his retirement was also cancelled within one hour and that he was later arrested."

Yadav's family was also unhappy over the fact that his VRS was cancelled.

Officials told The Indian Express that because Yadav faced several cases of indiscipline, VRS was disallowed.

Yadav, who was posted along the border in Jammu and Kashmir State had in a video alleged that soldiers were given bad quality food, as seniors in the force illegally sold rations meant for forces in the markets.

His video went viral causing widespread public outrage and forced the government and authorities to take notice. While the forces were quick to put the blame on Yadav, claiming that he was mentally unstable and was an alcoholic, the government had promised improvement of amenities.
