How To Watch Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Present The Union Budget Online

All eyes will be on the decisions taken to ease the effects of demonetisation.

Finance minister Arun Jaitley will present the union budget in the parliament today. His speech will begin at 11 AM. There were some doubts over whether the budget will be presented today because of the demise of the sitting Member of Parliament and former external affairs minister E Ahmed yesterday, but Jaitely's budget speech will commence as scheduled.

You can watch the budget live streamed here or on the Press Information Bureau's YouTube channel or the government's video portal. On television, you can watch the budget on almost all the major Doordarshan channels along with the streams from the major news channels.

On Twitter, the Ministry of Finance and the Press Information Bureau of India's handles will be posting live updates during the Budget session. You can also follow the budget on our live blog.

All eyes will be on the finance minister as people are expecting the government to provide sops and relief, to offset the hardship they have endured because of currency demonetisation. Jaitley is also likely to present the implementation schedule for the GST or Goods and Services Tax. There could be a a push for digital payments as well to encourage cashless economy.
