NEW DELHI -- Domestic mobile wallet major Paytm on Friday partnered with The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) to make Khadi products available on the Paytm marketplace.

With this, Paytm and Khadi Commission will work towards the twin objectives of making India a cashless economy and improving the quality of life of skilled craftsmen.

"Khadi as a fabric defines the cultural identity of India. This partnership will enhance the business prospects and quality of life of thousands of indigenous weavers and craftsmen," said Saurabh Vashishtha, Vice President, Paytm, in a statement.

"This will offer a strong push to Khadi products and enhance customers' propensity to buy them, further bolstering Khadi's potential of being an important employment generator," said V.K. Saxena, KVIC Chairman. KVIC manages and markets Khadi products.
