Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Launched In India With 4100 mAh Battery At ₹9,999

Xiaomi aims to emulate the success of Redmi Note 3.

Xiaomi launched its latest mid-range offering Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 today at an event in New Delhi. The phone is available in three variants priced at ₹9,999, ₹10,999 and ₹12,999.

Last year, Redmi Note 3 proved to be pivotal to company's success. Xiaomi will be hoping that the new phone can emulate that. In terms of overall design and features, there are only minor upgrades from Redmi Note 3.

Redmi Note 4 has a 5.5 inch HD display just like its predecessor with 2.5D curved glass. While the Chinese variant is running on a MediaTek Helios X20 chip, the Indian variant has selected Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 as the choice of the processor.

There is 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage on board in the highest end variant. The other two version have a 2 or 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage on board. All of them sport a 4100 mAh battery charged by MicroUSB port. The company said they have designed the phone in such a way that it doesn't heat up much.

It has a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and a 5 MP front camera with the same aperture. The smartphone will launch with MIUI 8 based on Android Marshmallow 6.0. Xiaomi will be pushing the Android Nougat 7.0 preview as well for the users of the phone to try out. The phone has a fingerprint sensor on the rear.

The phone will be exclusively available on Flipkart. The available colors are Gold, Dark Gray, and Black.

Xiaomi recently announced that it registered over $1 billion in revenues in India last year. The Redmi Note 3 was the biggest performer of the year for the company with 2.3 million units sold until September after being launched in March 2016.
