Ten years ago, the headphones that came with new mobile phones used to be a key part of the package. But today, most smartphone makers are skipping putting a pair just to save costs. At most, you'd find workable earphones that are never too good to begin with. So, here is a list of handpicked in-ear headphones that are good and cost under ₹2,000.

OnePlus v2 Bullet

I have used a pair of these with various phones and the result has been more than satisfactory. I like how they handle highs and lows. Although loudness is not really top notch, mostly you get above par experience. The wire is pretty tangle free as well.

At ₹1,199, the price is quite reasonable for the newest version available on the company's India website. OnePlus has partnered up with a German company called LOFO for the audio engineering.

Xiaomi In-Ear Pro

Packed in a swanky box, the Xiaomi accessory has probably the best build quality of the lot. It is comfortable to wear and quite sturdy too. The audio range offered by the headphones is standard 20-20,000 Hz, but it is the better headphone jack and copper-enameled wiring which makes it longer lasting. The sound quality is quite decent at a price of ₹1,799.

Sennheiser CX 275

I have already had three pairs of these beauties and I wouldn't mind buying one more if my current pair breaks or I lose them. I have blindly recommended these to many of my friends who like to enjoy the minor details and intricacies of a song.

The price of the unit swings between ₹1,600 and ₹1,900 on various e-commerce websites. While the build quality could admittedly be improved a lot, it aces the sound department with its 17 to 23,000 Hz range. I listen to a lot of metal and prog rock and I hate it if there is jarring during particular solos. But this in-ear pair has never let me down.

Audio Technica ATH-CKX5

First of all, these earphones are stunning in the looks department. There are plenty of colour options, from blue to red to a fluorescent green, without any of them looking tacky. The earbuds are C-shaped but there is the microphone to work with.

Also, they come with plenty of accessories, including a carrying pouch, earbud tips, and C-tips. Sound wise, this is the best value-for-money deal you'd get for around ₹1,000. Audio Technica is known for its great sound reproduction. The frequency response here is from 15 to 22,000 Hz. I played plenty of tracks, from the Weekend's Starboy to Lamb Of God's Duke and I got a fantastic experience in return.

SoundMagic ES 19S

Surely, these are not the best looking or best-built earphones on the list. But if you are looking for something very reliable around ₹1,000, this can be a great deal. The bass and loundness in terms of sound quality are pretty good. Rest of the performance is just on par.

The microphone support and the price should lure many to buy this. At around ₹1,500, it delivers a much better experience than a lot of high priced earphones.

There are surely many more earphones out there in this range but the ones above are those that I have used in the recent past, listening to podcasts or songs on them. Apart from these, Skullcandy's Ink'd and Smokin series headphones are pretty amiable, and JBL T-series can be a decent purchase as well.
