It's well known that Reserve Bank governor Urjit Patel is somewhat media shy. But he reportedly fled upon seeing an army of journalists who were waiting to ask him questions on demonetisation at the 8th Vibrant Gujarat Summit in Gandhinagar earlier this week.

IANSreported that Patel who was at the Mahatma Mandir venue at the Summit escaped through the backdoor after seeing a large contingent of reporters who had gathered from print and electronic media outside the seminar hall on the first floor waiting for Patel to come out.

According to IANS, Patel upon seeing the journalists, ran on the stairs with reporters chasing after him. The RBI Governor even skipped more than one step at a time to quickly reach his car that later rushed away.

We say to the governor, you could have just said, "no comment" to pesky reporters.
