Moto G5 Plus Likely To Launch In March With A Redesign

Leaked details include shots of a metal body, which will give the device a premium feel.

While Moto G might not be Motorola's flagship phone, it is certainly very important for the phone maker. The new year has commenced and leaks for the Moto G5 Plus have begun appearing online. A report from 9to5Google included many leaked details of the device, along with photos.

Last year, Moto released Moto M to give the mid-range series a premium look and feel. The leaked photos suggest that Moto G5 plus is taking a similar path. The looks are similar to that of Moto X (2017), images of which were leaked earlier. The shape of the device's fingerprint sensor in the front has changed as well.

Specifications wise, the phone will sport a 5.5 inch full HD display, along with a Snapdragon 625 processor. The phone's RAM capacity is expected to be 3 or 4 GB, depending on the variant and, at 3080 mAh, the battery size is almost the same as that of the G4 Plus. Also, it looks like the Moto G will have a MicroUSB charging port instead of the new USB C standard.

The device will have a 5 MP front camera and a 13 MP rear camera, and its back design will be similar to that of the Moto Z.

Motorola is expected to launch the Moto G5 Plus at the Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona in late February, and it should be available in the market by March. According to reports, the phone will be available in India in March as well.

Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus were among the highest selling phones in India in their segment, and the strong sales helped the parent company, Lenovo, to capture the second position in the Indian market.
