Indian external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj has threatened to never issue Indian visas to Amazon officials again--unless they remove all products that "insult" the Indian national flag.

"Amazon must tender unconditional apology. They must withdraw all products insulting our national flag immediately," she tweeted on Wednesday night. "If this is not done forthwith, we will not grant Indian Visa to any Amazon official. We will also rescind the Visas issued earlier."

She even complained about it to the Indian High Commission in Canada.

Swaraj's harsh statement comes a week after protests broke out against the sale of doormats picturing the Indian flag on Amazon, forcing the e-commerce company to remove the products.

Indian diaspora in the U.S. and Canada protested against the sale of these doormats, after which several Indians called for boycotting Amazon products. Someone even started an online petition against it.
