Gionee Launches M2017 With A Huge 7000 mAh Battery In China

The phone featuring a dual edge 5.7 inch display has been priced very high.

Gionee has launched a phone in China called M2017 with a humongous battery capacity of 7000 mAh. The phone is priced at RMB 6,999 (Approx Rs68447) slotting it into the premium bracket.

The battery life has been a big headache for a lot of users, so Gionee decided to cram two 3500 mAh batteries into the M2017 phone. That makes the thickness of a phone a little more than 1 centimeter. However, the company claims that using a single battery would have made the phone really bulky.

The smartphone dons a 5.7-inch dual edged QHD display. In other specifications, the phone is running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor with a sizable 6 GB of RAM.

Gionee has decided to follow on the footsteps of Apple and Moto by ditching the headphone jack. While there is no external storage support, users would get to choose the internal memory options of either 128 GB or 256 GB.

M2017 has a dual camera setup on the rear with 12 MP and 13 MP sensors. The front camera is of 8 MP. The smartphone runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box with Gionee Amigo OS customization on the top.

The phone has another variant with an Italian custom alligator leather back but it has a bombshell pricing of RMB 16,999 (Approx Rs1,66,270).
