Six Surrender After Ragging Juniors In Kottayam Govt College In Kerala

KERALA -- Six college students accused of severely ragging first-year students of a Government Polytechnic College in Kottayam, have surrendered before the police.

The six senior students surrendered before the Deputy Superintendent of Police on Sunday night.

The students were allegedly stripped naked and made to do rigorous physical activities for hours.

According to reports, there are a total of seven accused in the case and two are still absconding.

Two students, including the one currently undergoing treatment at the Thrissur hospital, have alleged that they were subjected to brutal ragging by their seniors at the institute.

The students were reportedly brutally ragged in the college hostel by senior students, who allegedly forced them to consume liquor laced with harmful substances. The victims were also made to do heavy physical exercise, including multiple push-ups.
