Xiaomi's Newest Product Is An Electric Scooter Which Can Fold With One Button

Xiaomi's newest product is a swanky electric scooter. The Mi Electric Scooter is an ultraportable vehicle which can be used to travel short distances.

The scooter, which weighs 12 kgs, can achieve a top speed of 25 km. But the unique thing about the vehicle is that it can be folded with just the press of a button. And according to the company it just takes three seconds for it to be folded. So it can be carried off easily anywhere.

The LG battery is rated at 280 Wh with a 12 N torque. To increase the battery life further it is equipped with Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) which would convert the Kinetic energy into the electric energy. The company has used the E-ABS dual break technology for smooth halting within 4 meters.

The scooter is produced under one of the Xiaomi's sub-brand Mijia. The product would available only in China through Mi's crowdsourcing platform. The price of the product is 1999 Yuan (₹19500 approx) and it will available from 15 December.

Earlier this year Xiaomi had released a folding electric bicycle called QiCycle which weighed just 7 kg. With a 18650 mAh battery, it had the capacity to run for 40-50 km without charging. The company also launched Xiaomi VR play at ₹999 in India along with the Xiaomi Live app. The Google cardboard compatible headset also allows the use to capture photos in the VR mode.
