A relative of Aamir Khan's wife, Kiran Rao, has lodged a complaint at Mumbai's Khar police station after jewellery worth over ₹50 lakh was stolen from Rao's Bandra apartment.

According to reports, Rao discovered sometime last week that an expensive ring and a diamond necklace was missing from the bedroom, following which the police registered an FIR under section 453 of the Indian Penal Code.

Rao, a filmmaker, who is married to Aamir Khan, lives in an apartment on Carter Road where the couple owns an entire floor.

The police are currently investigating the case.

Three domestic helps at Rao's house are the prime suspects and have been questioned over the last week. The house cook Farana, Kiran's assistant Suzanna and domestic help Jhumki are also being questioned about the shocking theft.

HuffPost India reached out to the Khan's publicist but the spokesperson said that the couple doesn't want to comment on the matter as of now.
