While Delhi might be the most polluted city in the world right now, many Chinese cities have been grappling with bad air quality too. Xiaomi has launched a new solution for the Chinese to combat bad air -- a high-tech anti-pollution mask powered by a tiny battery to filter out PM 2.5 particles.

The Mi Purely Air Mask is listed on Mi's crowdfunding page for Chinese consumers and is available for 89 Yuans (₹900 approx).

Made with hand-woven polyester material, the mask is equipped with a battery powered nano filter for PM 2.5 particles. The Li-ion battery can be charged through the USB port. It takes roughly 3 hours to fully charge the battery, with the charge lasting for 4-8 hours.

Mi Purely Air Mask will be released under Xiaomi's Mija brand which has produced products such as smart rice cookers in the past. Weighing just 50.5 grams, it is not inconvenient to wear.

Xiaomi launched their Air Purifier 2 in India earlier this year, priced at ₹9,999. The company also launched a newer model of the purifier, called Air Purifier Pro, in China recently. This version has a better clean air delivery rate, along with a built-in OLED sensor which displays the real-time PM 2.5 level.
