Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi was released late on Thursday after being detained for a third time as he tried to join the protest against the alleged suicide of ex-serviceman Ram Kishan Grewal.

Both Gandhi and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal were not allowed to enter the Ram Monahar Lohia Hospital, where Grewal's body had been kept.

Later, Gandhi caught the attention of social media for an entirely different reason.

Photographs showed Gandhi speaking over the phone and smiling during Grewal's cremation. According to The Indian Express, the words, "It's over," were also heard during the conversation.

Twitter went berserk, calling him 'two-faced' and saying that he was politicising an unfortunate event for personal gains.

The BJP also slammed Gandhi and Kejriwal for creating a "ruckus" over an ex-serviceman's suicide, adding that they had been waiting for someone to die to reap political mileage out of the OROP issue.
