A 22-year-old man accidentally died after falling from a three-storey building while trying to break into his girlfriend's house in Raipur.

According to a report in the Times of India, Rashid Ali was trying to enter his girlfriend's house from an adjoining building when he lost his balance and fell down.

Ali was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead.

"Rashid Ali was a resident of Mowa, who used to stay with his parents," Civil Lines City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Sanjay Dhruv reportedly said. "Late on Monday night, he went to meet his girlfriend. Initially, Rashid met her at Amar Chowk for half an hour. Thereafter, the girl went home and both of them engaged in a telephonic conversation after which she asked him to come to her home. However, he slipped and fell to the ground while sustaining injuries to the head and backbone."

However, the family of the deceased has accused the girl's family, saying they threw their son from the building.

Initial interrogation and forensic reports do not point to any foul play. The police is investigating the matter.
