Gas Leakage At Delhi Airport Was Caused By Medical Consignment, Flight Operations Normal

An alert was sounded after a leak from the Air France aircraft was reported.

NEW DELHI -- The Delhi Police on Sunday confirmed that the radioactive leak reported from the cargo area of Terminal 3 at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport was 'medicinal' in nature.

An alert was sounded after a leak from the Air France aircraft was reported, followed by immediate evacuation of the area.

Seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the area has been cordoned off.

Teams from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were also at the site.

A quick examination was carried out to ascertain the contents of the spill.
