Today is the biggest day for Google this year. The company is going to unveil two new Pixel smartphones. The event starts at 9:30 PM IST (9 AM PST) and will be live-streamed across media.

The easiest way to follow the live stream is here.

You can also follow Google's new website 'Made by Google' and its Twitter account. Here are all the announcements Google is expected to make.

Hello Pixel, goodbye Nexus

It seems that Google has put the Nexus programme at rest for now and they will be launching more Google-controlled Pixel series smartphones. The two phones are made by HTC but this time there will be no maker's logo on the phone.

Pixel and Pixel XL would be 5-inch and 5.5-inch devices respectively, according to the recent leaks. Both the phone will be running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 with other usual shenanigans of flagship smartphones. There also will be bunch of exclusive features such as unlimited Google Photo storage at maximum resolution. It is expected that the prices for the Pixel phones will start from $649.

Google Home and the Google Assitant Army

After many speculations, Amazon Echo's rival Google Home was announced at Google IO. It is expected that Google will be launching the device at today's event. The smart speaker will be connected to the WiFi and will comply to the commands through Google assistant.

Google home which would be available in different colours and finishes would be priced at $129. Interestingly, during the Google IO presentation a few of the Indian apps such as OLA were mentioned. It is quite possible that Google home would be available in India at the launch.

After the launch of Allo, Google assitant has been much talked about. With the rollout of Android 7.1 and new Pixel phones, it will be taking place of Google Now.

Daydream VR

Another Google IO announcement will be supposedly converting into a launch of a VR headset. The search giants had given a demo of how a daydream compatible handset would give great experience to the user in the Virtual Reality world. Google had announced that Android Nougat 7.0 will be Daydream compatible but right now there are no handsets following the norms.

While Pixel phones would surely be daydream compatible, Google might also unveil a VR headset which is superior to the Google cardboard. With more control over content and better processing power, the rumoured $80 headset would be a worthy competitor to Samsung's Gear VR.

The secret of Andromeda

It has been a long time since the merger of Chrome OS and Android OS has been talked about. At Google IO Google had announced that Android apps would soon be able to run on Chrome OS. Andromeda would be more likely a polished version of that. While there is no clarity on how the merger will take place, there are already rumours floating around for the probable devices.

An Android Police report said that a convertible laptop will be launched in 2017. While some reports suggest that there is a possibility of an Huawei tablet being launched by end of this year.

A 4K Chromecast and Google Wifi

Chromecast is surely due and upgrade with after the shape change to a round puck from a USB stick last year. This year it is likely to get 4K streaming support along with better codecs. The price of it is rumoured to be $69.

Google will also be upgrading the OnHub router it launched last year. Although the OnHub routers were made by other OEMs, Google Wifi is supposedly made by Google to push the mesh technology. Droid Life claims that the dual band, Bluetooth supporting router will be starting from $129.
