Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa Hospitalised, Condition Stable

She had been suffering from fever and dehydration.

CHENNAI -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was admitted to a private hospital here after she complained of "fever and dehydration".

The 68-year-old AIADMK chief was taken to Apollo Hospitals here late last night where her condition is stated to be stable now, the hospital's Chief Operating Officer Subbiah Viswanathan said, adding she is under observation.

"The honourable chief minister of Tamil Nadu was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Chennai with fever and dehydration," he said in a release circulated to media by the state government in the wee hours today.

"The honourable madam is stable and under observation," Viswanathan said.
