Lenovo's sub-brand Zuk launched the Lenovo Z2 Plus smartphone in India today. This is the second phone that Zuk has launched in India. Lenovo Z2 Plus was launched in China earlier as the Zuk Z2 Plus.
Priced at the higher end of the mid-range spectrum, the Lenovo Z2 Plus is aimed at the user seeking a premium smartphone experience. It is priced at ₹17,999, which, looking at its specifications and features, is very competitive.
The phone has a 5-inch screen with a 2.5D screen glass and a 'unibody' structure that reminds one of the iPhone 4. The FHD panel screen has an impressive pixel density of 441 pixels per inch (PPI).
Lenovo has tweaked the phone's Snapdragon Qualcomm 820 chip so that it has always-on sensors which help track the user's health without switching any app on.
Lenovo Z2 Plus is available in two variants. One with a 3 GB RAM capacity and 32 GB of internal storage, and the higher-end variant with a 4 GB RAM capacity and 64 GB of internal memory. The first variant is priced at ₹17,999 and the higher-end variant at ₹19,999. Lenovo has used a special chip on the phone which can write data faster.
The phone has a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, and an 8 MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture. It has a 3500 mAh battery with a USB C port and fast-charging support.
Lenovo Z2 Plus will run on stock marshmallow with customisations such as a shortcut menu at the bottom instead of the top. The smartphone has a multi-function fingerprint sensor that can perform multiple actions governed by single touch, double touch, long hold, press and swiping right and left.
The device will be available in India from 25 September exclusively on Amazon, in white and black colours.
