Amid tensions between India and Pakistan over the recent terror attack at the Indian Army base in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir, an Indian TV journalist on Monday was asked to leave a press conference that was to be addressed by Pakistan's Foreign Secretary in New York.
According to reports, pointing towards the NDTV journalist, Namrata Brar, someone said, "Iss Indian ko nikalo (remove this Indian)."
Brar was directed to leave the press conference at the Roosevelt Hotel where the Pakistani Foreign Secretary, Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, was to address the media on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is also in the US to attend the UN General Assembly, refused to answer a question by another Indian journalist on the Uri attack which has claimed the life of 18 Indian soldiers and in which four militants were gunned down.
In his meetings with US Secretary of State John Kerry and British Prime Minister Theresa May, Sharif accused India of human rights violation in Kashmir and sought their intervention in resolving matters.
