The Madhya Pradesh Government has quite a few plans for yoga guru Baba Ramdev's Patanjali products. A few days back, it allotted 40 acres of land in Pithampur industrial area for setting up a food processing unit, at the cost of Rs. 10 crore.

Now, the government wants to sell Patanjali products at fair price shops in the state, reports Indian Express.

On Friday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan floated the idea inaugurating a two-day programme organised by the cooperatives department in Bhopal.

The MP Chief Minister said that by selling Patanjali products, the fair price shops can turn around their fortunes and finally make some profit.

Meanwhile, he Minister of State for Cooperatives (independent charge) Vishwas Sarang is getting in touch with Patanjali to formalise the deal.

"We want to convert fair price shops into multi-utility shops; they will benefit from associating with Patanjali products," Sarang told Indian Express.

Last month, it had managed to woo Baba Ramdev by promising to set up a Rs 500-crore food processing unit at Dhar district in the state.

They had said that tax benefits will be given to the company according to the policies and rules, when it starts production, amidst whispers that the BJP government in the state has gone out of the way to offer sops to Patanjali.
