On Wednesday, Indian tennis star Saketh Myneni, achieved two distinctions -- a career-high rank of 137 in the men's singles category according to the latest list issued by the Association of Tennis Professionals, and scoring a match-point in his love life.

During the official Davis Cup event, 28-year-old Myneni proposed to his girlfriend Sri Lakshmi Anumolu in the presence of his friends and colleagues.

Anumolu, reportedly a UPSC aspirant, happily agreed with a simple, "OK".

Tennis star Leander Paes tweeted a picture with the now engaged couple, saying that it was the "first ever marriage proposal [that he] had witnessed at the Davis Cup."

Eager to wish the couple joy, the All India Tennis Association (AITA) arranged for a cake to celebrate the occasion.

Myneni, who will lead India in the Davis Cup tie against Spain from 16 to 18 September, entered the main draw of the US Open after winning three rounds in the qualifying event.
